This is designed to cover three business areas – (Front office), ( Food & Beverage) and (Facilities Management & housekeeping) each on a 30 days rotation.
Front Office
• Learn PMS systems (Property management systems)
• Phone and email etiquette
• Yield management and allocations
• Customer service training
• Cash handling and banking
• Housekeeping and rooms management.
Food &Beverage
• Stock control, COGS (cost of goods sold) and profit margins
• Licensing and statutory requirements
• Food handling skills
• point of sale systems
• Customer service training
• RSA course – Responsible Service of Alcohol
• Bar operations, promotions and crowd management insight
• Events organizing and management
• Basic cellar management
Facilities Management & Housekeeping – • Efficiencies in running housekeeping teams
• Reporting required – PMS (property management system)
• Chemicals & equipment; training, efficiencies, ordering and safety
• Bed making, vacuuming, general cleaning and building an eye for detail
• General maintenance & capitol works planning & budgeting
• Basic maintenance skills; painting, plastering, lock systems, basic plumbing.
• Risk management and essential services compliance
• First Aid and Fire Warden training – if applicable to training timings for the
property
After these 90 days you come away with an amazing insight into how the hotel / hostel business works.
A 45 day placement can also be offered, this would include just the two modul office and F&B.
